Riding off a very meh Haas livery launch, Formula 1 fans were blessed with the announcement to top all announcements. Sir Lews Hamilton was set to leave Mercedes and drive for Ferrari for the 2025 season. Now if you didn't believe the news when you first saw it you're not alone. 2023 was riddled with rumors and clickbaity headliners that Hamilton would finally make his big move out of Mercedes after a terrible 2022 season and a very pessimistic vision for 2023. While there were many ideas about where Hamilton would go none was more popular nor made more sense than Ferrari and although the rumors had some validity in them his move ultimately didn't happen as he renewed his contract with Mercedes once again. Henceforth the drama of where Hamilton would drive moving forward died overnight. It appeared that the seven-time world champion would ride or die with Mercedes. Then came the news that flooded the globe. Lewis Hamilton had signed with Ferrari. The news was so shocking it rocked the very core of Formula 1 including Mercedes. Social media blew up. News outlets were in full swing, and Ferrari stock ironically skyrocketed but was unrelated. This is perhaps the only reason why the average fan should tune in to every race.
So What Now?
So should you watch this season of Formula 1? That was a rhetorical question yes absolutely you should watch this season of Forumula 1. Not only will Lewis Hamilton be driving for Mercedes for the last time his move to the Tifosi will shake up the entire driver market perhaps in the likes we've never seen before. The teams optics will be out for almost every driver as Hamilton shuffles the deck. This is about as Hollywood as you can get even if Red Bull goes on to win every race this season the eyes and cameras will all be on Hamilton and Ferrari. As a delusional Ferrari fan myself I can't help but feel hope and excitement that perhaps next year will truly be our year. So if you're a Ferrari fan yourself take out that shirt, take out the flag, take out that red and be delussional with me as we approach this circus of a Forumla 1 season.
